Me and my dad woke up early this morning for our scheduled walking at Corniche. We had high hopes of having a good walk and wanted to start the day with a good sweat. As my dad drove through the Corniche street and was looking for a good parking area, he suddenly made a U-turn on a very narrow crossing which is obviously not allowed.
I, kept my silence since I not sure if I was right then... suddenly, cars across the road made an annoying beep which caught our attention. My dad then doubted what was the horns for. I told Dad that I think we made a wrong turn since the road appears to be so narrow making it impossible for a U-turn. He then dismissed me and told me that what he did was right.
Still bothered, after we parked the car, we decided to drop by the area and have a good look on the road. A "no U-turn sign" was there with three traffic cameras with it. My dad then felt so disappointed with himself and was very worried since it might cost us a lot of money to pay for the said violation. What I've heard, disobeying traffic signs would mean a 6,000 QR and that's a lot of money to spend on a non-sense violation! What a waste indeed.
I wanted to blame my dad for being so absent-minded but I realize it wont do any good. I know my dad is in distraught and I should not add to it. Instead, I advised him to let it go since we cant do anything about it. All we have to do is to save some money to pay for the violation. Now I wonder what would my mom's reaction would be after hearing this! I hope the traffic cameras were turned off!
A year ago, my mom paid 10,000 QR for my dad's traffic violation and then here it goes again! hahay.....too much money to waste!
